Unlike the existing smart and refined cooking at the forefront of all of Brent Savage and Nick Hildebrandt’s places including the Monopole and Bentley things have taken a turn at Yellow. This time a vegetable-focused menu is the centre of attraction as chef Savage has ditches the meat. Dishes like kohlrabi and enoki mushroom, a parsnip pappardelle, or whipped coconut and carrot sorbet have left their charm on the foodies. Once here, not even for a second a thought of meat missing will cross your mind.

Headed by A-team Peter Gilmore, Kylie Ball, and John Fink is this quintessential dining in Sydney offering some of the best produces of Australia. The afternoons here turn into a scrumptious historic venue by trying red claw crayfish with lemon jam or line-caught Southern squid best served with charred pickled cucumber.

Taking a big leap, the slick bar operators from Swill house Group recruited a star chef Daniel Pepperell to their new eatery. Though Pepperell’s famous sardine katsu sando is no more on the menu in this French bistro, but be ready to be lost in the smart reinventions of classic French recipes. Some of the dishes worth savouring are chicken fricassee with shiitake or melon en surprise, the dessert of the year. It’s food and sommelier Andy Tyson’s wine list backs it up big time.

Now a restaurant was once a heritage-listed site that opened its doors after months of delays and is all set to serve its guests. As Chef Nathan Sasi (Nomad) has had more time to fine-tune the menu, the wait feels like ordering from a market in the depths of Spain. Making all its own cheese, breads, and charcuterie in kitchen gives an assurance to be served the best. You’ll want to go again and again to get through the whole menu with dishes like barbecue hot chorizo, truffle mortadella, Ortiz anchovy tart topping the list.
